How many provinces are there in Nepal?
Nepal has 7 provinces, created by the 2015 constitution: Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim. Each has its own capital, provincial assembly and government within Nepal's three-tier federal structure.
By population, Madhesh is the largest province; by area, Karnali is the largest and least densely populated.
