Quiz, answered
Is there more than one quiz?+
Yes. Set 1 (68 questions) is built entirely from data already published and source-cited elsewhere on Amarnepal, with a "Source page" link under every answer. Set 2 (34 questions) adds fresh questions on Nepal's geography, history, government structure and culture, each one fact-checked against primary and reputable sources, with a source link wherever a matching Amarnepal page exists. Switch between them with the Set 1 / Set 2 toggle above the quiz picker; your choice carries over if you play again.
What topics does the Nepal GK quiz cover?+
Five categories in both sets: Geography (districts, provinces, rivers, lakes, national parks and protected areas), History (censuses, unification, the Rana and Panchayat eras, the republic, the constitution and province renaming), Symbols (the flag, currency, calendar, anthem, national sport and parliament), Mountains (Everest and Nepal's eight eight-thousanders) and People (the 2021 census: ethnicity, language and religion). Pick any single category or the mixed 20-question round.
Where do the quiz's facts come from?+
Set 1's questions are built from data already published and source-cited elsewhere on Amarnepal: the district and province datasets, the eight-thousander peak profiles, the rivers and lakes reference, and the National Population and Housing Census 2021 figures. Set 2 draws on the same census figures plus the Constitution of Nepal, the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, the Ramsar Convention Secretariat and standard histories of Nepal and its mountaineering, verified before being added. Each answer that matches an existing Amarnepal page links to it from the explanation.
How is the quiz scored?+
You pick one of four options per question and see immediately whether you were right, with a short explanation and a link to the source page. At the end you get a score out of the total questions played and a full review of every answer, right or wrong.
Is my quiz score saved anywhere?+
No. The quiz runs entirely in your browser with no account, login or backend, nothing is sent to a server or stored between visits. Refresh the page or pick 'Try another quiz' to start over.
How many questions are in the quiz bank?+
Set 1 holds 68 questions and Set 2 holds 34, 102 in total across the five categories. The mixed round draws 20 of them at random each time from whichever set you've picked, and each single-category round shuffles that category's full set, so replays don't repeat the same order.
Can I use this to study for a Nepal-related exam or interview?+
It's a good quick refresher on well-established facts (district and province structure, the eight-thousanders, headline census figures) but it isn't a substitute for an exam syllabus. For deeper detail on any topic, follow the 'Source page' link under each answer to the full, cited page.
Sources & data note
Set 1's questions are drawn from Amarnepal's own source-cited datasets: the district and province pages, the eight-thousander peak profiles, the rivers and lakes reference, and the National Population and Housing Census 2021 figures. Set 2 adds questions verified against the census figures plus the Constitution of Nepal, UNESCO, the Ramsar Convention Secretariat and standard histories of Nepal. Follow the 'Source page' link under each answer for the full citation trail where one exists.
