School fee inflation planner
Enter today's annual fee and an expected yearly increase rate to see what that fee could grow to over the next 1-15 years, at a few milestone years so you can plan and save ahead of time.
Private school and college fees in Nepal often climb faster than general inflation, but the pace varies a lot by school and city, so treat the rate below as your own adjustable estimate.
Your fee plan
This year's total annual school or college fee, tuition plus any compulsory charges you pay yearly.
How far ahead you want to plan for, up to 15 years.
An adjustable estimate, not a fixed fact. Private school fees in Nepal often rise faster than general CPI inflation, but the actual pace varies a lot by school and city, adjust this to match your own school's recent fee hikes.

Each milestone compounds your current annual fee by 9% a year, projected fee in year N = current fee × (1 + 9/100)^N. This works for any recurring annual fee, school, college or university, and is a planning estimate only, actual fee increases are set by each institution and will differ from this assumption, computed entirely in your browser.
One rate, compounded forward year by year
A simple compound-growth projection turns today's fee into a realistic future planning figure.
Today's fee
The current annual fee you enter, tuition plus any compulsory yearly charges, is the starting point every projection compounds from.
Compound the rate
Projected fee in year N = current fee × (1 + rate/100)^N, the same compound-growth maths used for savings and investment growth, applied to a rising cost instead.
Milestone years
Rather than a row for every year, the result highlights year 1, year 5, year 10 and your own chosen target year, so the numbers stay easy to plan around.

School fee planning, answered
How fast do school fees rise in Nepal?+
There is no single verified national figure for this, and we are not going to invent one. Fee increases are set individually by each school or college and vary a lot by institution, city and year, a well-established private school in Kathmandu or Pokhara can raise fees noticeably faster than general consumer-price inflation in some years, while a smaller or community school may raise fees more slowly or irregularly. The most reliable input is your own child's school's recent fee history, check the last two or three years of fee notices and use that pace as your rate here rather than a generic assumption.
How do I plan for rising education costs?+
Start by entering your school's actual recent fee increases into the rate field rather than guessing, then look at the milestone years to see roughly what you would need to cover fee alone at each point. From there, treat the projected future fee as a savings target, many families set up a recurring deposit or SIP sized to reach that figure by the year it's needed. Revisit the numbers every year or two as actual fee notices come in, since a single projection years out is only ever a planning estimate, not a guarantee.
Does this account for university/college fees too?+
Yes. The calculator works for any recurring annual fee, school tuition, college fees or university fees, since the underlying maths is the same compound-growth projection regardless of the institution type. Just enter the current annual fee for whichever level you're planning for and an increase rate that reflects that institution's own recent history.
Should I use general inflation or a school-specific increase rate?+
A school-specific rate almost always gives a more realistic projection. General consumer-price inflation, the rate that prices for food, fuel and everyday goods rise at, is a reasonable fallback if you have nothing else to go on, but private school and college fees have historically tended to rise faster than that broad basket in many years, driven by rising staff salaries, facilities and demand rather than general prices. If you can find your child's school's fee notices from the last two or three years, the actual year-on-year increase you calculate from them will track reality far better than a generic inflation figure.
Sources & data note
Projected fees are a straight compound-growth calculation, current fee × (1 + rate/100)^N, using the increase rate you enter. There is no single verified national figure for how fast school fees rise in Nepal, actual fee increases are set independently by each institution and vary by school, city and year, so use your own school's recent fee history as the rate for the most realistic projection. This is a planning estimate only, not a guarantee of any future fee.
