How do I copy Nepali (Devanagari) characters?+

What are the Nepali numbers 0 to 9?+

In Devanagari they are ० (0), १ (1), २ (2), ३ (3), ४ (4), ५ (5), ६ (6), ७ (7), ८ (8) and ९ (9). They appear on number plates, documents and the Bikram Sambat calendar.

What is the symbol for the Nepali rupee?+

Nepal does not have a unique Unicode rupee glyph like India's ₹. The rupee is written as रू, as 'Rs', or with the generic rupee sign ₨. All three are in common use.

How many letters are in the Nepali alphabet?+

Nepali uses the Devanagari script with about 13 vowels and 36 consonants (including the conjuncts क्ष, त्र and ज्ञ usually taught with the alphabet), plus vowel signs (matras), numerals and symbols.

Do these characters work everywhere?+

Yes — they are standard Unicode Devanagari, so they display in browsers, on phones, in documents, on social media and in search, as long as a Devanagari font is available (almost all modern devices include one).
