Age calculator (AD & Bikram Sambat)
Enter your date of birth and get your exact age in years, months and days — plus the total days you have lived, the weekday you were born, and a countdown to your next birthday.
It also converts your birth date to Bikram Sambat with Nepali digits, using the Amarnepal BS calendar. Everything is computed in your browser.
Your dates
Enter your birth date in the English (Gregorian) calendar.
Defaults to today. Change it to find your age on any other date.
The Bikram Sambat conversion supports BS 2000–2100 (AD 1943–2043). Birth dates outside that window still show the AD age; only the BS date is unavailable.
Your age
—
Enter a birth date on or before the as-of date.
Age is computed as the exact calendar difference (years, then months, then days), counting completed periods. The Bikram Sambat date uses the Amarnepal BS calendar (BS 2000–2100). Everything is computed in your browser.
From two dates to your exact age
Age is the calendar gap between your birth date and the as-of date, counted as completed years, then months, then days — and then expressed in Bikram Sambat too.
Pick the dates
Enter your date of birth in AD; the as-of date defaults to today but you can set it to any date to find your age then.
Exact difference
We subtract field by field, borrowing days from the previous month and months from the year, to get full years, months and days.
BS & countdown
Your birth date is converted to Bikram Sambat with Nepali digits, and we count the days to your next birthday.
Age, answered
How does this Nepali age calculator work?+
Enter your date of birth in the AD (Gregorian) calendar and an as-of date (it defaults to today). The tool computes the exact difference as completed years, then months, then days — the same way age is counted in everyday life — and also shows your birth date converted to Bikram Sambat.
How is exact age in years, months and days calculated?+
It subtracts the birth date from the as-of date field by field. If the as-of day is earlier than the birth day, it borrows the number of days from the preceding month; if the month is then negative, it borrows 12 months from the year. The result is the number of full years, months and days that have elapsed.
What Bikram Sambat range does it support?+
The BS calendar covers Bikram Sambat 2000 to 2100, which corresponds to roughly AD 1943 to 2043. Birth dates outside this window still return your AD age in years, months and days; only the Bikram Sambat conversion is unavailable for them.
Does it handle 29 February birthdays?+
Yes. Leap-day births are counted correctly, and the next-birthday countdown rolls a 29 February birthday to 1 March in non-leap years so the countdown is never skipped.
Why does the as-of date default to today only after the page loads?+
Today's date depends on your device clock, which the server does not know. To avoid a hydration mismatch the as-of field is filled with today's date in the browser just after load, rather than during the initial render. You can change it to any other date.
Sources & data note
Age is the exact calendar difference between two AD dates, counting completed years, months and days. The Bikram Sambat conversion uses the Amarnepal BS calendar, valid for BS 2000–2100 (AD 1943–2043) and anchored on BS 2000-01-01 = AD 1943-04-14. Values are indicative; for legal or official purposes verify the BS date against the current Nepal Panchanga.
