SEE GPA calculator
Work out your Secondary Education Examination GPA on the National Examination Board letter-grading scale. Add each subject, pick a grade or type the marks, and get your GPA out of 4.0.
Marks are auto-graded with the official NEB bands (90–100 = A+ down to below 35 = NG), and you can optionally weight subjects by credit hours. A study aid, computed entirely in your browser.

Grade points follow the National Examination Board letter-grading scale: A+ = 4.0, A = 3.6, B+ = 3.2, B = 2.8, C+ = 2.4, C = 2.0, D+ = 1.6, D = 1.2. GPA is the average grade point across your subjects (credit-weighted when you enable that option). This is an indicative estimate — confirm grades and any subject weighting against your official NEB grade-sheet.
From subject grades to a single GPA
Every SEE subject earns a grade point on the 4.0 NEB scale; your GPA is simply the average of those points across all subjects.
Grade each subject
Choose a letter grade (A+ to D) for each subject, or enter marks out of 100 to auto-grade it using the NEB bands.
Map to grade points
Each grade has a fixed grade point: A+ = 4.0, A = 3.6, B+ = 3.2, B = 2.8, C+ = 2.4, C = 2.0, D+ = 1.6, D = 1.2.
Average for the GPA
GPA is the average of the grade points (credit-weighted if you choose). The closest band gives your overall letter grade.
SEE GPA, answered
How is SEE GPA calculated?+
Each subject is given a grade point on the NEB 4.0 scale — A+ = 4.0, A = 3.6, B+ = 3.2, B = 2.8, C+ = 2.4, C = 2.0, D+ = 1.6, D = 1.2. The GPA is the average of these grade points across all your subjects. For example, grade points of 3.6, 3.2 and 2.8 average to a GPA of 3.20.
What are the marks ranges for each NEB letter grade?+
Under the National Examination Board letter-grading system the bands are: 90–100 = A+, 80 to below 90 = A, 70 to below 80 = B+, 60 to below 70 = B, 50 to below 60 = C+, 40 to below 50 = C, 35 to below 40 = D+, and below 35 = NG (Not Graded). Enter marks in any subject row and this calculator applies these bands automatically.
What does NG mean in SEE results?+
NG stands for 'Not Graded'. It is recorded when a subject scores below 35. An NG counts as zero grade points, and the overall result is shown as NG until that subject is improved through a grade-increment (chance) exam.
Should I weight subjects by credit hours?+
A plain SEE GPA is the simple average of grade points across subjects. Some schools and transcripts weight each subject by its credit hours, so a higher-credit subject affects the GPA more. Turn on credit-hour weighting in this calculator to compute GPA = Σ(grade point × credit) ÷ Σ(credit). If you are unsure, leave it off — that matches the standard NEB grade-sheet GPA.
Is a higher GPA always better, and what is a good SEE GPA?+
Yes — GPA runs from 0 to 4.0, and higher is better. A GPA of 3.6 or above corresponds to an overall A+, 3.2–3.59 to A, and 2.8–3.19 to B+. Admission cut-offs for popular Grade 11 streams and colleges vary, so check the specific requirements of the programme you are applying to.
Does this calculator give my official SEE result?+
No. It is an indicative tool that mirrors the NEB letter-grading scale to help you estimate your GPA from grades or marks. Your official GPA and grades come only from the National Examination Board grade-sheet.
Sources & data note
Grade points and marks bands follow the National Examination Board (NEB) letter-grading system for the Secondary Education Examination: A+ = 4.0, A = 3.6, B+ = 3.2, B = 2.8, C+ = 2.4, C = 2.0, D+ = 1.6, D = 1.2, with below 35 marks recorded as NG. GPA is the average of subject grade points (credit-weighted when enabled). Values are indicative — verify your grades, any subject weighting and the current grading rule against your official NEB grade-sheet, as grading policy can change.
