How many districts are there in Nepal?
Nepal has 77 districts under the 2015 constitution. They are grouped into 7 provinces and subdivided into 753 local levels (municipalities and rural municipalities). The number rose from 75 to 77 after Nawalparasi and Rukum were each split in 2017.
The 77 districts range from Kathmandu, the most populous (about 2.04 million people), to Manang, the least (around 5,658). Dolpa is the largest by area and Bhaktapur the smallest.
