How many constitutions has Nepal had?
Nepal has had seven constitutions: 1948, 1951, 1959, 1962 (Panchayat), 1990, 2007 (interim) and the current Constitution of Nepal 2015, which established the federal democratic republic with 7 provinces.
Each constitution marked a major shift — from Rana rule to early democracy, the Panchayat system, multiparty democracy and finally federalism.
