What is the official language of Nepal?
The official language of Nepal is Nepali, written in the Devanagari script (Article 7 of the 2015 constitution). The constitution also declares every mother tongue a 'language of the nation', and provinces may adopt additional official languages.
Bagmati Province enacted Tamang and Nepal Bhasha as additional official languages in 2023.
