Mount Everest (Sagarmatha) is the highest mountain in Nepal and on Earth, at 8,848.86 m — the figure from the 2020 Nepal–China joint survey. It sits on the Nepal–China border in Solukhumbu district, within Sagarmatha National Park.

Everest was first summited on 29 May 1953 by Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa.
