Kimathanka Arun Hydroelectric Projectकिमाथान्का अरुण जलविद्युत आयोजना

A 454 MW semi-reservoir project on the upper Arun River at Kimathanka, Bhotkhola, Sankhuwasabha, about 3.7 km from the China border. A domestic-capital investment modality has been prepared (70:30 debt-equity, with GoN, NEA, EPF, Nepal Telecom, CIT and HIDCL as promoters). Land compensation began in 2026, but physical construction has not yet started.
