Indicative conversion only. Banks and money changers add a margin to the NRB reference rate and may apply buy/sell spreads and fees, so the amount you actually receive will differ. For INR the peg is a policy parity, not necessarily the cash rate at a counter.

What is the NPR to INR exchange rate?+
The Nepali rupee is pegged to the Indian rupee at a fixed parity of 1 INR = 1.6000 NPR — that is, 100 INR = 160 NPR. This peg has been in place since 1993. On 17 Jun 2026 Nepal Rastra Bank quoted a buy rate of 160.00 and a sell rate of 160.15 per 100 INR; the 1.6000 parity is used for conversion here.
Why is the NPR/INR rate fixed but other currencies are not?+
Nepal maintains a fixed exchange-rate peg with the Indian rupee because of the two countries' deep trade and remittance links, so the NPR/INR rate does not change day to day. All other currencies — US dollar, euro, pound, Australian dollar and so on — float, and Nepal Rastra Bank publishes their reference rates once per banking day.
How do I convert NPR to USD, EUR or other currencies?+
Because these rates float daily, this tool does not hardcode them. Switch to the 'NPR ↔ other' mode, enter today's NRB reference rate (NPR per 1 unit of the foreign currency) from the official Nepal Rastra Bank forex page, and the converter does the rest.
What is 100 INR in Nepali rupees?+
At the fixed peg, 100 INR = 160 NPR (1 INR = 1.6000 NPR). The converter applies this parity instantly in NPR ↔ INR mode, with no daily rate needed.
Is the converted amount what I will get at a bank?+
Not exactly. NRB rates are reference rates; banks and money changers add a margin and apply buy/sell spreads and fees, so the amount you actually receive will be a little different. Treat the result as indicative.
Will the NPR/INR peg ever change?+
The 1.6 peg has held since 1993, but it is currently under policy debate in Nepal. Any change would have to be announced by the authorities; until then the fixed parity remains in effect.
